Study Opportunities in Japan Webinar took place on 19 November 2022 to introduce various tips on finding schools and programmes, and applying for scholarships. A current MEXT scholarships student studying at Hokkaido University as well as a Study Abroad Coordinator from the Hokkaido University Africa Office in Lusaka shared their knowledge and experience with participants who are interested in studying in Japan.

The Study Abroad Coordinator explained the steps for the preparation to study in Japan, how to look for schools and programmes, what kind of scholarships and financial assistance are available not only from the MEXT but also from other organisations as well as schools. The current MEXT scholarship student also shared his experience on applying for MEXT scholarship (university recommendation) and gave some tips on how to prepare application documents including a research proposal. Useful tools and resources for finding schools and programmes and scholarships were also shared with the participants.
