On 26 February 2023, a Study in Japan Online Fair for Postgraduate Studies took place. 23 programmes from 15 universities in Japan as well as more than 300 students from 20 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa participated in the fair.

The online fair was composed of a general information session and a university consultation session. The General information session was opened with a welcome remark by Professor Masahiro Okumura, Director of the Hokkaido University Africa Office in Lusaka, followed by a presentation on the introduction to study in Japan. The session also welcomed the representatives of the Embassy of Japan in Zambia, JICA Kenya, and JDS Kenya, who presented different scholarship schemes. Former students who studied in Japan also shared their experiences and answered questions from the audience.

In the university consultation session, 15 universities introduced 23 programmes they offer in English. This session allowed participants to virtually visit different universities to gather more information about the programmes, directly ask questions, and get advice on universitye applications and scholarships.
