On 9 August 2023, Hokkaido University Africa Office in Lusaka joined a Study in Japan information seession organised by JICA in Botswana.

The session forucsed on the post-graduate studies. In the session, Hokkaido University, as a promoter of a Study in Japan for Africa, provided an overview of study in Japan opportunities, whereas JICA explained different schemes it has such as Abe Initiative, SDGs Global Leader, Agri-Net and Kizuna. Embassy of Japan in Botswana also participated and provided information on the MEXT scholarship.

The main target audience was coordinators of different ministries in Botswana as well as students interested in studying at postgraduate level.
