HUSTEP webinar took place to learn more about the exchange programme of Hokkaido University for undergraduate students
On 16 November 2022, HUSTEP webinar took place to learn more about the exchange programme that Hokkaido University offers.
HUSTEP stands for Hokkaido University Short-Term Exchange Programme, which is a programme that provides undergraduate students from affiliated universities (i.e. universities that have an International University Exchange Agreemenet with Hokkaido University) with the opportunity to study in Japan at Hokkaido University. Dr Firkola, HUSTEP Director, explained the overview of the programme, and a currenet HUSTEP student and a HUSTEP alumnus shared their experience of studying at Hokkaido University as an exchange student.
It was explained that, as an exchange programme, HUSTEP is not designed to take a degree, but it is a great opportunity to experience to study and live in Japan for half a year or one year together with other international students coming from different parts of the world. There are a number of former HUSTEP students who have decided to further their studies in Japan after their completion of the programme and the graduation from their home universities. Other important information such as the eligibility to apply for HUSTEP, the application procedure, credit transfers, and a scholarship opportunity to support the living cost in Japan was also expalined.
The next application deadline for HUSTEP is February 2023.
