About Us

Commissioned by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan, Hokkaido University has been implementing "Study in Japan Global Network Project" since 2014. The main objective is to promote opportunities to study in Japan for eligible people in Sub-Saharan Africa through

  • information sharing;
  • awareness raising activities (including fairs, seminars and webinars);
  • individual consultations; and
  • support to academic exchanges

in collaboration with national and local institutions in the region.

Currently our Regional Office in Sub-Saharan Africa is based in Lusaka and Nairobi, and four Study-in-Japan-for-Africa Coordinators are there to promote this initiative.
