About Us

* Thank you very much for cooperation and support for Hokkaido University Africa Office in Lusaka, which implemented 'Study in Japan Global Network Project' for Sub-Saharan Africa, commissioned by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan for years.

Since the successful completion of this project on the 31st March 2024, this website has not been updated.

Commissioned by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan, Hokkaido University was implementing "Study in Japan Global Network Project" since 2014. The main objective was to promote opportunities to study in Japan for eligible people in Sub-Saharan Africa through

  • information sharing;
  • awareness raising activities (including fairs, seminars and webinars);
  • individual consultations; and
  • support to academic exchanges

in collaboration with national and local institutions in the region.

Until the end of March 2024, our Regional Office in Sub-Saharan Africa was based in Lusaka and Nairobi, and four Study-in-Japan-for-Africa Coordinators were there to promote this initiative.
